New Managing Director UK appointed
Building on its sustained development momentum, Jolt Capital, a leading private equity firm specializing in European growth deeptech, announces the appointment of Meriem Smida as Managing Director UK.
Reporting to Jean Schmitt, Chairman and Managing Partner, Meriem will contribute to the development of Jolt Capital's activities in the UK by leading local fundraising efforts and actively participating in the sourcing of opportunities in line with Jolt Capital's deeptech DNA, as well as in the M&A program for the existing portfolio.

Her career
Meriem Smida began her career in 2001 as an investment banker specializing in M&A at Schroders Salomon Smith Barney / Citigroup in London. Meriem then worked as an investment professional at private equity firms Actis from 2007 to 2013 and Kerogen Capital from 2013 to 2015. She then joined investment bank Natixis where she held several positions between 2015 and 2021, including head of M&A advisory for Asia-Pacific based in Hong Kong and global head of Private Equity Coverage, where she led an international team in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining Jolt Capital, Meriem was an Investment Partner at Ethos Private Equity.
Meriem holds a MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences and is fluent in Arabic, French and English. Meriem is currently a member of the Board of Trustees on the Institute of Business Ethics in the UK.
