Dan Newman was named Venture Partner at Jolt Capital in June 2021.
He began his career in strategy consulting, working primarily with Fortune 500 companies. In the early 1990’s he shifted his focus to early stage technology companies based primarily in the US and Israel.
In 1998 he co-founded Cross Atlantic Ventures with offices in Boston, MA and Sophia Antipolis, France. The firm was focused on early stage technology, broadly investing in hardware, software and networking companies in the US, France and Israel.
Having several co-investments with Paris-based Sofinnova Partners, he joined them as a Venture Partner in 2005, working with portfolio companies in the US and France. During this time he led the recapitalization of WebDialogs which was acquired by IBM, was a board member of several companies including Sefas Innovation, acquired by Docaposte, and oversaw the sale of Sensitive Object, acquired by TE Connectivity.
Since 2010 Dan has continued to invest through Cross Atlantic Advisory, broadening his range to include medical devices and consumer related techologies. He is currently Managing Partner at Cross Atlantic Advisory based in Cambridge, MA USA.
Dan Newman holds a BS in Finance from Northeastern University and an MBA from F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College.
